
About A.T. Protective Services
We recently had the privilege of speaking with Commissioner Brandon Sterling of A.T. Protective Services. Brandon is the Chief Training Officer and Commissioner of Special Police for both A.T. Protective Services and its sister company, A.T. Protection Services, which operate under the same parent company. These security service providers offer a wide range of security solutions across seven states in the United States, including armed and unarmed guarding, as well as a law enforcement division of special police, primarily in the District of Columbia.
The Challenge
As industry-leading security providers, A.T. Protective Services faced challenges related to documentation, including shift reports, incident reports, and other industry-specific documentation. Managing these reports across seven states and diverse client needs required a significant amount of time and effort. Commissioner Sterling found himself dedicating more time to form creation and management, which detracted from his ability to oversee operations effectively. Recognizing the increasing demand for accurate and timely reporting, he saw the need for a streamlined solution.

“Additionally, we’re able to add those clients to our system and 1st Reporting, allowing them to be able to get those reports in real time as soon as they’re submitted. … they can see that specific report in full detail with GPS tracking to show exactly where that officer was when they submitted that report.”

Not only did 1st Reporting meet their budget expectations, but it also exceeded them with its range of features and ease of integration. The support team was readily available, although the system was so intuitive that minimal assistance was needed.
“… (1st Reporting) was there from the beginning to help get me integrated as well with some of the tech support team … but I ended up not really needing much help from anybody because it was so user-friendly.”
Training personnel on the platform was equally effortless.
“Let me tell you: My personnel, the majority of them already had it down pat on how to use the system because it’s so simple, so easy and user friendly. There really was no need to put them through training on how to use it.”

“It allows for more efficiency because we can pretty much hand out tasks and delegate to our personnel, whether it be somebody in my administrative staff, one of my managers or officials, or one of my field supervisors. I can even delegate to a first line supervisor, someone who is a corporal, maybe is in charge of a specific shift at a particular location. That has been extremely helpful.”
